A 29-year-old woman who sparked public health fears after disappearing from hospital with a contagious condition has been found.

Kayleigh McConnon was last seen at Cheltenham General Hospital at around 10pm on Tuesday – just as thousands descended on the town for the annual horse racing event.

Officers issued the plea after Kayleigh McConnon vanished from Cheltenham General Hospital at 10pm last night.

Gloucestershire Police warned people “to not approach” her “as she has a contagious condition.”

The 29-year-old, from Cheltenham, was described as a white woman, 5ft 5ins tall with shoulder lengthy mousy hair.

It’s believed she was wearing a coat with fur on the hood/collar when she went missing, reports Gloucester Live .

A police spokesman said earlier this morning: “Officers are concerned for her welfare and are appealing for anyone who sees her to not approach her as she has a contagious condition, but to call police on 101 and quote incident 42 of 14 March.”

Shortly after 11am today, Gloucestershire Police then reported that Miss McConnon had been found safe.

The force tweeted: “We are pleased to report that Kayleigh McConnon is no longer missing and has returned to hospital. Thanks for all the RTs.”
