Formal record Lawyers for Prince Andrew say that the lawsuit against him will be closed

Virginia Giuffre, also known as Virginia Roberts, and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein settled in 2009.

Mme Guiffre accuses the Queen's son of sexually assaulting her as a teen.

She claims she was forced to have sex with Andrew while she was 17 and a child under US law.

She is seeking unspecified damages, which could be in the millions.

Andrew has refuted all charges against him.

Last week, his companion Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted on five counts of sex trafficking, one of which implicated Ms Giuffre.

Maxwell now faces life in prison after being found guilty of assisting in the sexual abuse of minors by Epstein.

Andrew's lawyer, Andrew B Brettler, stated previously that Ms Giuffre had signed a ‘settlement agreement' ending her litigation against the duke.

Ms Giuffre's claims against Prince Andrew were released under the arrangement, Mr Brettler told a New York court.

On Tuesday, US District Judge Lewis A Kaplan will hold a video teleconference to hear the duke's legal team's motion to dismiss the case.

Last Thursday, Judge Kaplan denied Andrew's lawyers' request to postpone the civil case while Ms Giuffre's whereabouts were investigated.
