NOT PERI NICE Teenagers ‘take homeless man to Nando’s for a meal but run off laughing leaving him with no food’
THREE teen girls have been slammed after they apparently took a homeless man to Nando’s for a free meal – then ran off leaving him with no food.
A homeless man has been ‘overwhelmed’ with support after three teenage girls allegedly taunted him when they promised to buy him a Nando’s meal than ran off.
Fellow customer Sally Cudmore shared the 27-year-old man’s ordeal at the restaurant in south east London, where she claims the trio – thought to be around 16 or 17 – ‘terrorised’ him.
Now the TV psychic has shared an update on the situation, after she said she met up with the man and spoke to his mum.
She said the “polite, lovely” man was oblivious the story had been in all the papers and was amazed at how far it had gone.
She added: “I met up with the gentleman who this happened to.
“He wants me to thank you all for your support and for all your kind words.
“My daughter showed him the newspaper articles – because he didn’t have a clue, he had no idea.
“He was overwhelmed … He was such a polite, lovely man.”
She said she had also spoken to the man’s mum, who she described as being “very concerned.”
The teenage girls were named a shamed online after pictures of them outside the Nando’s in Woolwich were widely shared.
Mrs Cudmore claimed the three girls promised him a chicken meal before running away laughing at him.
A teen claiming to be one of the group hit back, alleging the man had acted inappropriately – yet scores of other witnesses claimed that was a lie and gave their own versions of events.
Mrs Cudmore snapped a photo of three girls outside the restaurant and posted it on Facebook, writing: “Three loud girls came storming in with there cameras filming and taking pics of a homeless man strolling along behind and they were saying ‘We are going to pay for your dinner and buy you Nando’s.’
“They told the man to sit down and the three girls went to the counter and was talking to the staff.”
She claimed the three went outside laughing before the man became suspicious and asked workers if they had ordered him any food.
Sally added: “The man looked so upset and apologised to the workers. The girls were outside recording him and laughing hysterically while recording him as he was walking out.
“They had no intention of ordering him any food. Instead they followed him, laughing and terrorising him.
“Absolutely disgusting I hope you are all proud and it made you feel good about yourselves!!
“The poor man was so upset.”
After the post was shared, a teenager claiming to be the blonde member of the trio claimed the man had first asked the group for a cigarette, before they bought him a drink.
She continued: “I told him to leave me alone and my friends and he started telling my friend how he would do things to her so I walked into Nando’s walked to the bar and told the man we are pretending to order food so the man leaves us alone and the man on the counter went along with it.”
The teenager alleged the homeless man had become angry and ‘grabbed’ her friend, and said: “He shouldn’t of spoke to us the way he did we offered to buy him food but it wasn’t good enough then he started talkin inappropriately to us saying how he would do this and that and talking about his willy.”
But another witness, Emily Warress, said: “Even a taxi driver told you girls to leave him alone because you was hiding behind cars and then jumping out trying to scare him. Disgrace.”
Sally responded to the teenager’s post, stating: “You were terrorising him all the way down the street. You three were vile.
“You wasn’t scared I would have been the first to help if that was the case. You was bullying and taking the mickey out of a homeless man.”
Another witness, Courtney Fowler, added: “They continued to follow the man all around Woolwich – he even tried to escape them by going into the train station poor man.”
